Rick Crandall graduated from Arizona State University with a Bachelor of Arts in Education Degree. A short period after his graduation Rick began working with an individual by the name of Denton Schultz as an architectural renderer. From 1968 to 1974 Rick drew and painted renderings of buildings, homes, etc. to enable the owners to visualize their buildings before they would in fact be built. From May of 1974 to May of 1975 Rick worked for a company by the name of "American Steel Buildings" designing metal buildings and doing renderings of various projects.
In May of 1975, Rick Crandall went to work for Jacobson Companies of Yuma, Arizona. At Jacobson Companies, Rick helped design and decorate the model homes built by and shown by Jacobson Companies. At this time he also began drafting under the direction of Architect, Ray Steinbeigle. Rick became a senior designer and job captain, conducting client conferences, designing and drafting structures within development projects, art work and graphic illustration, models making, and other presentations for promotions and marketing purposes. He coordinated the designs with the engineering department. Rick mostly designed and drafted residential and light commercial projects. He developed standard details and specifications.
Rick is a consummate artist, and early in 1986 he decided that he wanted to utilize his love of art and pursue his chosen profession as an architect. He had been reading and interpreting blueprints for years as he executed his color renderings and decided it was time to seek registration as an architect. Rick uses highly qualified consultants to provide his services required for the successful completion of each project. Computer aided drafting and system design is handled by experienced, qualified technicians.
Frederick Crandall, Architect specializes in architectural design, planning and feasibility studies. He provides these services as well as uses highly skilled professional consultants to furnish specialized mechanical, electrical, acoustical, landscaping, civil and structural engineering. He works with other professionals who act as consultants/subcontractors to his firm in the formation of architect/engineer teams.
In 1997 Rick was invited to join the Monolithic Dome Institute of Italy, Texas, as the principal consulting architect. In his affiliation with this national organization, he now travels extensively educating and promoting the monolithic concrete dome concept to other professional designers, school boards, church groups and other interested organizations. |
